Spiegel Online has once again thrown on a subject that it is especially important: discrimination in the United States. This time it is about the stereotypical portrayal of Arabs in Hollywood films.
reproachfully is on so-called tits and sand made films in which the Orient is reduced to belly dance and sword-swinging end sheikhs. Such as high-hwinfo 1905 turned "Palace of Arabia Nights". Until the 1920s, but some were more into it published such works!
-
also comes across the author of three Arab-born actor (!) as if one could now assume that people are related to such accepted biographies in Hollywood, like Jews in the Nazi Party. One of the three days of fear concealed for years, what the F stands for in his name (Farid!!).
-
The article is based on a book by an American media scholar, the frightening diagnosed: were constantly in the movies clichés, such as wonderful lights, water pipes, Fez or palm fronds used.
-
Ebenso dass Hollywood auch deshalb so erfolgreich ist, weil es offen für Talente aller Länder ist (gerade again won an Oscar and an Asian one of the most famous Indian film directors) and an absolute multi-culti "Company" is is. Only people who can not leave their irreplaceable stereotype of Hollywood's discriminatory, it will find a message worth to mention the descent of three Arab actor.
-
But those are then the same, see the looming end of democracy, if at the Oscars uneducated, vain actor happily believe time not having to speak politically, so the headline The next day, consequently, is: Hollywood is not what they used to celebrate yourself!
